Abstract: Report Highlights Organic agriculture in Turkey began in 1985 by the private sector in the Aegean Region. Organic agriculture production started as a result of the demand from countries in Europe. Since then, organic agriculture production has expanded throughout Turkey. The Organic Agriculture Law passed on December 1, 2004. Most of the Turkish organic agriculture is produced for export markets. Domestic consumption is still very low but is gradually increasing each year.
