Principles of organic agriculture

Joint event between IFOAM and EU Project on the Revision of the Regulation 2092/91

Moderator: Sheldon Weinberg, IFOAM World Board member,

Objective:

The public session will focus on the process of rewriting the principles of Organic Agriculture within IFOAM as well as on the on-going 3 year EU research project on the revision of the Regulation 2092/91; two parallel closely related processes in the organic sector.

The IFOAM Task Force on Principles will inform about the current discussion within IFOAM that should lead to proposed reviewed principles of Organic Agriculture.

From the EU project the results of a series of European wide Focus group workshops on principles of organic agriculture can be presented including examples of conflicting areas.

The discussion will allow a broad audience to participate in the discussion about principles of Organic Agriculture.
