Swedish research on organic food and farming in the past 15 years was largely financed with directed calls. This praxis have resulted in many innovative projects who would not have been executed without directed calls, says Maria Wivstad manager for Centre for Organic Food and Farming and editor of the research agenda.

To facilitate funders priorities EPOK coordinates the production of a single document with the main future challenges and knowledge needs of the organic food chain towards greater sustainability, efficiency, and environmental and social benefits. The current document is called Research Agenda for Organic Agriculture in 2013.
